Blind Dates

I'm sure we all have some humorous blind date stories. I feel like I've had more than my fair share, so I thought I'd share the fun of my most recent adventure. :)

I got a call from a guy that somehow knows a lady in my ward last week. She basically said, "He's single. You're single. You're perfect for each other!" :) She told me he would be calling about 2 months ago, so I had forgotten about it. He called and wanted to hang out some time this week. He sounded nice enough. He heard I liked to hike and so he suggested we go hiking. I thought, I guess that's okay (although, I wasn't too excited to be going alone). We tentatively set up to meet on Saturday afternoon and hike.

Friday I got a message that he forgot he had to be at the temple Saturday evening and wanted to reschedule our hiking time. I thought, "Great! Saturday's not the best for me. We can try and do it another time...and at least I know he goes to the temple." I called him back and left a message saying, "Yep.....a different day would work better for me." After some phone-tagging I finally talked to him and he said, "Oh no, let's still get together tomorrow, just earlier. Say 3:00...and we'll be back by 5:00 for the other things we need to do." It was apparent he wanted to get this over with. :) So did I, so I agreed and figured he'd call tomorrow to find out where to pick me up since he didn't ask for my address at the time. :) He called back 5 minutes later to see if we could just meet at the trail so we could both get where we needed to go faster afterwards AND so he could have time to pick up his dog to bring him hiking too. :) I chose a place to hike and meet (since he didn't know the area much) and we planned to meet the next day.

The next day, ten minutes before we're supposed to be meeting I get a text saying he would be ten minutes late, so I waited ten minutes and then left to meet him. Ten minutes later I was waiting at the canyon and he calls and says he's sorry he's late, but he's really on his way now. I continue to wait. Another text, a couple of phone calls and 40 minutes later......he says he really is almost there (after a longer than expected oil change and car wash), but I told him even once he got there we wouldn't have time to get to the trail and back before 5:00, so we'd need to do it another time. He was
apologetic, but it was kind of a funny situation.

That was about the most BLIND date I've even been on. Ha, ha. :) Adding this to my list....I think that makes close to15 blind dates....and ranks in the top 2 or 3 most interesting. I think I should write a book. Anyone want to add any stories of their own? :)
