Children

Christmas is all about children....their excitement and wonder, their faith and belief, their humility, their caring and concerned hearts, the light and happiness in their eyes.  Christmas is all about one very special child.  Many may have been surprised to find the Savior of the world come to earth as a humble baby, but what a beautiful plan.  I'm grateful for His perfect life and all that we learn from his humble example, even from the very beginning.  I have always loved the song Away in a Manger:

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus lay down his sweet head;
The stars in the heavens looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the poor baby wakes;
But little Lord Jesus, no crying he makes.
I love thee, Lord Jesus; look down from the sky

This song reminds me of the sweet, humble, peaceful, loving example of Jesus....and of children.

Today I got to spend some time with wonderful children.  :)  I'm grateful for them in my life.  I watched the sweet children of my ward get dressed up and ready to perform what looked to be one of the most tender nativities I've ever seen.  Then I got to spend the rest of the evening and part of the next day with my niece and nephew.  We got to checkout the new FrontRunner South together.  They were excited about the train, but as we were getting off wondered why it didn't take us all the way to their house like the Polar Express.  :)  I'm grateful for them and their examples and how they make me think of Christ - their honesty, openness, cute personalities, love for each other, concern for others and how they help me put life into perspective with a clearer focus on what's really important.
